I just had a play with VPaint and I'm impressed, but would really like to be able to:
1) Scale and transform objects (and be able to preserve the aspect ratio while scaling).
2) Add text
Currently I use Xournal with a WACOM-Bamboo tablet for creating SVG images of diagrams to document my work using a mixture of hand written and font based text. It's a two step process that requires exporting as pdf and then importing to Inkscape to crop and save as SVG. I would use Inkscape for both, but the pencil tool has a large delay making it unusable (I'm running it on Windows 7).
VPaint looks like it could soon be my preferred choice.
Thanks for the good works, Bob

Thank you for the feedback Bob! Scaling/rotating objects is one of the top priority features and will be implemented very soon (I hope, less than a month). Text is also an important feature, it will be implemented some day, just not as soon. Maybe in a year or so.
Thanks Boris, I'll keep a lookout.
